Dr. Luke is a perfectionist! I am 66 years young and walking with a walker. I finally decided to get the right knee replaced because the Shots to the knee did not work. Dr. Luke will explain the procedure to you so you know what to expect. The surgery went well, and in a few weeks was going to Physical Therapy. My right knee is back to normal with no pain. I am no longer using a walker and I feel like I am living again.

Total hip replacement Feb. 9, 2017 Went very well. Dr. Luke is awesome! I did everything I was supposed to do and I didn’t do what I wasn’t supposed to do. In June my husband and I went on vacation. I climbed sand dunes, lighthouse steps, 94 steps down to a waterfall viewing area and back up again. Walked miles each day. All with no pain meds! I am so grateful! Now it has been 6 months and its all so good it’s like it never happened!!

He explained what the procedure would be, scheduled the surgery quickly and the follow-up care was excellent. He is a serious doctor, which I appreciate. I had both my knee and hip replaced by dr. Luke I am so happy with the results. I actually was in Florida and was able to go to the beach and get myself out of the beach chair by myself. I haven’t been able to do that in years. I can now go shopping and am able to stand for more than a few minutes. The whole experience with dr. Dr Luke did 2 knee replacements for me. He & his staff are awesome. I’m 6 months out from the second one and I am doing great! Everything from deciding to get the surgeries to educating me on what to expect, to the follow ups, they were all so wonderfull. Dr Luke knows his stuff and I just love him. He answered all my questions and didn’t rush me. His staff especially his nurse Patty, were so helpfull and so nice. I thank God that Dr. Luke was on call when I was brought to Palos Hospital at 1 am with a complex three-part open ankle fracture. He is an amazingly talented orthopaedic trauma surgeon that truly caresfor his patients. He is professional, yet very friendly. Dr. Baylis and his staff did a top notch job. Only wish I hadn’t waited so long.As he told me it would be a piece of cake and it was. I had full mobility of my fingers the evening of the surgery which was at 6:30 am. I iced and wiggled my fingers constantly the first day and only had to take five Tylenol 3 in a 3-day period after surgery. Am looking forward to having my right hand done in the near future. Dr Wardell did hip revision on my right hip May 29, 2018. He replaced the ball of my femur. Removed 2 unneeded screws and filled the holes with bone graft, and replaced my plastic liner. Incision was 5.5″. Old one was 14″. My recovery was amazing. He’s revising my lose knee implant 9/25/18. It failed at 3 years old. Eventually he will be doing my left hip and knee also. He is amazing. I trust him 100%

This whole experience has been terrific , the doc. looked at it said I could get shots to put off surgery but I thought “why wait” He cut me 5 weeks ago and Im doing great the knee gives me almost no pain, and I am walking steps again normally . Palos Hospital and Dr. Wardell took a very conservative approach to avoid complications, and I had none. Recovery a bit of a struggle, but physical therapists and others commented on how “good” my scars looked and how well the knees were healing. A friend of mine recommended Parkview Orthopaedic when I broke my ankle and I am very glad she did. I can’t rave enough about Dr. Shah’s bedside manner, efficiency, and surgical skill! He took care of our daughter who tore her ACL playing basketball. He came recommended from another players family. He spent time with us, showed us pictures & walked our angst filled teenage daughter through the surgery the recovery & was very compassionate when we started crying out of fear. We had surgery at a surgical center and it went great… He even called us later that day and then saw us in the office to show us pictures & to make sure we got everything we needed after surgery. She is now 3 months into it & is already running and building up strength. There is no one better that we met, and we took her to 2 different ACL surgeons. Dr. Shah took care of my shoulder when I fall. He put a brand new shoulder in me – a shoulder replacement (who knew that existed!). He took care of me very well when I went to first see him, he was patient, explained the problem, showed my on pictures in the walls in the room where the broken bones were and then he explained that treating in sling or plates and screws wouldn’t work well for me and also explained why which made sense. I stayed at palos hospital for 24 hours after surgery, but my pain is so much better thanks to him and his assistant Mr. Nate. They really knew how to take care of me and made sure that the nurses knew what to do as well. I am out of the sling after a few weeks and therapy is going well. I recommend him to all my friends at the palos fitness center. Dr. Shah is a very good doctor, caring and very good surgeon.

I have been seen as have my family by Dr. Shah for some shoulder and elbow problems after being recommended by some former professional athletes that he has treated. I can say he is highly regarded and it shows. He is fast quick and smart. His nurses are very nice and take a good history, Dr. Shah reviews and asks some pertinent questions followed by an exam and reviews any tests like xrays or mris that are done. Tore my knee up bad playing soccer with multiple injured ligaments and cartilage. I saw two other doctors before Dr. Shah. The other ones didn’t seem very confident and they couldn’t answer my questions… Dr. Shah spent 10 minutes asking me questions and then a thorough exam on both my knees and he looked at my xrays and MRIs. He then spent 30 more minutes explaining the injury, the treatment options, what he would recommend, how he would do the surgery, then also spent time telling me all the phases of rehab… He clearly is the expert in his field of knee surgery and sports surgeries. At first my boss tried to force me to go to the work recommended doctor, who probably was just paid by my company to be bad and not help me and get me to back to work. But as my pain and suffering worsened, I asked one of my co-workers who told me that I can see whoever I want and Dr. Shah was heavily recommended. Dr. Shah was great. He ordered all the appropriate tests and discovered the injury at work ripped my rotator cuff completely off the bone. He performed surgery through a scope with tiny little portals and fixed the whole thing! It took a few months of recovery but the pain wasn’t that bad and I’m back in the gym and back at work. I had a good experience with Dr. Shah and his team at Parkview Ortho. I tore my knee up, and needed surgery. I sought a few opinions and ultimately decided to have Dr. Shah operate on it. He went through what the recovery and rehab would be like, how long I would be off of work and showed me pictures. I was able to go home the same day from the surgery center in a brace and an ice machine. Therapy has been going well, and I making improvements every day and am close to having my normal life.

Appointment scheduling and check in was easy. Was brought into the room 5 minutes after checking in and a nurse or an assitant talk some basic information. Dr. Shah then reviewed my xrays, and came in about 5 minutes afterwards, reviewed my history asked me some questions and performed a thorough exam on both of my knees. He explained the problem showing me pictures, asked me if I had any questions and then went over plan that does not involve surgery for me hopefully. Happy efficient.

Dr Shah did rotator cuff surgery on me on March 3,2017. I had a fall on February 12 th and Dr. Shah seen me the next day. From his exam he knew right away what was involved and the MRI confirmed it. Once back at the office, I was called in immediately and a nurse took my history. 5 to 10 minutes later, Dr. Shah arrived, and his personality is such that you feel at ease. He replaced my shoulder 5 months ago. I’m already playing golf, exercising and bowling without pain now. Only regret is that I wished I saw him sooner and did the surgery sooner. He has a nice bedside way about him. Calming yet confident. I thought I needed a rotary cup repair, but after he examined my shoulder and we looked at my X-rays together he explained that my pain and stiffness was from arthritis. Repaired my ACL. Tore ligament skiing. Surgery was fast recovery was fast. Not painful at all didn’t take any drugs. Was putting weight on my leg same day as surgery and started therapy a few days after surgery. Dr Shah spends a lot of time making sure that I understand what is going on and making sure I actively participate in my therapy and rehab. He is great, all the therapists at Advocate recommend him.

I went to see dr. shah after referred to him by friends. he has a wonderful bedside manner and truly cared about the pain in my knee. he did a very thorough exam and history. he had an orthopaedic surgery resident that was working with him and you could tell that dr. shah is an excellent teacher as well. he told me that the problem in my knee had a chance to do well without surgery and he thought we should try some conservative treatment first and then if i didn’t get better that scoping the knee would always be an option. eventually i did end up getting my knee scoped by him and within four weeks i’m back to playing racquetball and working full time as a nurse. all the nurses in the operating room at my hospital recommended him because they said he is the most technically gifted surgeon that they’ve ever worked with and i can see why. i’m grateful for having him as my surgeon

Saw him as a 2nd opinion for shoulder pain. He did a very thorough exam and asked all pertinent questions. Came to the correct diagnosis quickly and discussed different treatment options and gave me his reccomendation. I am now 3 months out from my rotator cuff repair and am back to playing golf and tennis with minimal soreness. My strength is great. Dr. Shah treats our son and daughter. Both are high school and high level basketball players. Fixed my ACL and I am in rehab and I am functioning better, recovering quicker, no pain, and tiny incisions compared to everyone else that I talk to that had their ACLs done elsewhere. He did a greatjob on my knee and I thank him and my friends for recommending him!I initially went to a downtown academic center but that doctor didn’t give me any options on how to fix my ACL. Dr. Shah discussed all the different graft options and let me decide which graft to use after telling me the strengths and weaknesses of all the grafts. He clearly was way more knowledgeable than the ‘downtown’ guy who only knew how to do an ACL one way. I did some research and found out that Dr. Shah teaches other surgeons on ACL, knee, and shoulder surgery. I made the right decision going with him and am better off because of it!

Dr. Shah was able to successfully fix my rotator cuff arthroscpoically after another surgeon attempted to repair it 2 years ago and it never healed. Dr. Shah treated myself and my daughter after we both had been to other orthopaedic surgeons in the area. I had rotator cuff surgery in the past and it failed after 6 months. Dr. Shah discussed all possible options, gave me his recommendation and ultimately let me decide how to proceed. He did what he called a revision rotator cuff repair and he was able to do it all arthroscopically, when the doctor that did it before made a large open incision. My shoulder feels great and I’m back to playing tennis and golf.My daughter tore her ACL playing high school and club soccer… Dr. Shah spent 45 minutes with us discussing the different types of ACL grafts as well as what rehabiliation would involve. I had another doctor do me knee scope and repair ligaments, but my knee was never normal and always felt loose. Dr Shah did a difficult reconstruction on my knee that other orthopaedic surgeons in the area didn’t know anything about and weren’t able to help me. I’m now back to work as a fireman and have no problems and even started playing 16″ softball again! Now that Dr Shah is in the South and the southwest suburban and Chicagoland area I feel like we have one of the brightest and most capable minds for sports injuries in all of the Chicagoland area. I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Sampat. I went to his office with a numb and weak arm for more than a month. Another doctor sent me to physical therapy but it did not help at all. Dr. Sampatfound I had a big herniated slipped disc in my neck. He did a surgery and I woke up with my arm back to normal. I couldn’t believe that he got rid of that awful pain with a 1 hour surgery! Dr Sampat examined me and offered me with options for my slipped disk in my low back. The disk had become herniated and was making my foot numb. The pain medications were not helping so Dr Sampat did a surgery to fix it. My numb leg became better the minute I woke up from surgery! Dr. Sampat had to perform a spinal fusion on me because I had a slipped vertebra. I liked him because he did not jump to push surgery on me. We tried all kinds of treatment for 6 months and finally, I had the surgery. It was amazing! The numbness in my legs went away and I was ready to leave the hospital in 2 days! He did it with a microscope and the cut on back is only 1 inch long! He always saw me personally in the hospital and spent over an hour with me in his busy clinic to explain the problem that was happening to my spine. Honest Review: I am going to tell you why Dr Bayran must be one of the best pain management specialists. After a car accident my lower back started to hurt. I was suffering nerve lashes on my back going to my legs, leaving me completely paralyzed. I went to a dozen doctors, got x-rays, MRI’s, went to chiropractors and nothing. But 2 minutes with him, he told me what I may have, did a test, then killed a nerve in my lower back facet, and pain gone!

I have had pain shots in my back from a few other Dr.’s. They were painful the Dr would inject a shot to lesson the pain but believe me you still were in extreme pain for a few minutes it was a very short period of time. But when your in that type of pain it seems much longer. Then i was told have pain shots again it was a mixed blessing i know they help the pain but i was not looking forward to the pain. Lucky i was referred to Dr Bayran. You feel no pain!! He is the best!!!!!

If you are looking for a no nonsense detail orientated tell it like it is physician, Dr. Bayran is for you. He listens, he explains and he will work very hard to help you. I would not hesitate for one minute to refer him. As long as you are willing to do your part trust me he will do his. Staff are always cheerful and friendly plus the office neat and orderly. I can’t comment on ease of urgent appointments because I have never encountered that situation but I wouldn’t expect that to be a problem

I was diagnosed fall of 2015 with lower lumbar stenosis. I originally had physical therapy which did help alleviate most of the pain. However, I wanted to find something that would give me greater relief without surgery and I was recommended to Dr. Bayran. I have seen Dr. Bayran twice now for epidural injections for my lower lumbar pain and it has helped greatly. It is not a permanent solution but it does give relief for an extended period. I would highly recommend Dr. Bayran.

I seen Dr. Bayran last year in Oct for severe lower back pain, and leg pain. He administered injection, and I had not felt that good since I don’t remember when! I just seen him again this week, as I feel the pain coming back, and want to take care of it before it gets so severe. I went to the ER with what I thought was a broken foot. They sent me home saying it looked like a bad sprain and to follow up with a specialist. I saw Dr. Ratkovich the next week and with further tests he confirmed that 5 bones were actually broken and there was a small dislocation. He recommended surgery immediately that week to prevent further problems with the dislocated joint. He was very kind, friendly, patient and confident. While I wasn’t awake to oversee them, it seems that he performed the surgeries well and his sutures were very neat and clean. I’m glad I chose Dr. Ratkovich and would chose him again for the issues I have had.

I’ve been seeing Dr. Bonaminio for years now! She has helped me out tremendously. She has worked with me through my symptoms and come up with an approach that has helped me.
