James Boscardin, MD

Spine Care and Sports Medicine

Introduction

Dr. Boscardin is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who treats a wide variety of orthopaedic illnesses and injuries, with a special interest in spinal conditions. Though Dr. Boscardin is semi-retired and no longer performs surgery, he remains dedicated to treating patients— offering conservative treatment options and also performing spinal injections in the office.

Dr. Boscardin graduated with his B.A. in Chemistry from MacMurray College in 1962, and then earned his M.D. in 1966 from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. Dr. Boscardin completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at Loyola University Hospital. In 1971, he completed a Fellowship in Hand Surgery at Passavant Hospital in Evanston, followed by an additional year of training as a Sofield Traveling Fellow, during which he treated patients in several European orthopaedic centers.

Dr. Boscardin was one of the first physicians to join Parkview Orthopaedic Group in December 1971, and has been integral in growing the practice to its current prestige. Starting in 1981, he also served for many years as the Senior Team Physician for the Chicago White Sox.
