William Baylis, DO, DPM

Hand, Wrist & Elbow Surgery

INTRODUCTION

Dr. Baylis is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who joined Parkview in September 1994. His subspecialty training is in hand, wrist and elbow surgery, though he has a breadth of experience in treating various orthopaedic injuries and conditions. Today, he focuses primarily on treating upper extremity injuries—most commonly nerve compression problems, such as carpal tunnel; tendonitis problems, such as trigger digits; and general trauma. Dr. Baylis is passionate about his practice and is committed to partnering with each patient in his or her care. As he says,

“I believe it is imperative that there is cooperation between patient and doctor. This is key to getting the best clinical outcome for every patient.”

Dr. Baylis’ extensive training began with earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut. He went on to receive his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) from the Ohio College of Podiatric Medicine, and then a few years later earned his D.O. at the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Baylis completed additional subspecialty training via a fellowship in upper extremity surgery at The Christine M. Kleinert Institute for Hand and Microsurgery in Louisville, Kentucky. He joined Parkview Orthopaedic Group after completing his fellowship.

Dr. Baylis is currently accepting new patients in Palos Heights and New Lenox.
