History

Parkview Musculoskeletal Institute was founded in 1968 by Drs. James Lambur and Richard Corzatt. They were joined just a few short years later by Drs. James Boscardin and Albert Bosch. At the time of Parkview’s inception, the communities these founding physicians served included Evergreen Park, Melrose Park, Marquette Park and Palos Park. Hence the inspiration for the practice’s name: Parkview.

Parkview’s first office was located on the upper floors of the Standard Bank Building on 95th and Western in Evergreen Park. It was in 1974 that the doors first opened at the current main office location on College Drive in Palos Heights.

In 1981, Dr. Boscardin and Dr. Corzatt were selected to serve as the team physicians for the Chicago White Sox baseball organization. Several Parkview physicians would continue to fill this position for more than 20 years.

A rebranding effort in the new century saw the practice’s name change from PMI to Parkview Orthopaedic Group. Over the years, Parkview has grown to its current prestige, which includes five office locations, physical therapy gyms and radiology departments; two MRI centers; 18 expert physicians and 8 clinicians; and more than 100 employees.

Parkview Orthopaedic Group is well-equipped to provide care from the initial onset of pain or injury, through surgical or non-surgical care, and, finally, to recovery. The process starts with a visit to one of our eighteen expert physicians. They are fellowship-trained in many subspecialties of orthopaedics—including sports medicine, joint replacement, trauma and reconstructive surgery, spinal surgery, hand, wrist and elbow surgery, foot and ankle surgery, pain management, neurology, and rheumatology.

When it comes to surgery, Parkview surgeons are well-versed in the newest advancements in medicine. Technologies such as minimally-invasive techniques mean a shorter and less-painful recovery for patients. These and other advancements are essential to patients maintaining their quality of life and returning to the activities they love. Other cutting-edge techniques mastered by the Parkview surgeons include advanced arthroscopic shoulder and knee surgery, total ankle replacement for severe arthritis, and high-tech hip, knee and shoulder replacements.

Over the past fifty years, the Parkview name has remained synonymous with excellent orthopaedic care. We were proud that our patients named us “Best Orthopaedic/Sports Medicine in Chicago’s Southland” in 2019 and the “The Best Orthopaedic Group in the Southwest Suburbs” in 2018.

As one of the oldest orthopaedic groups in the area, Parkview’s longevity speaks for itself. We are proud of our enduring relationships with patients, physicians and the community at large, and we look forward to growing those relationships for decades to come.
