Dr. Baylis performed carpel tunnel surgery in May 2016. I have since healed scar less, painless, and can resume my normal duties as a Motor Truck Driver. Dr. Baylis has a great patient caring manner. Dr. Baylis and his staff did a top notch job. Only wish I hadn’t waited so long.As he told me it would be a piece of cake and it was. I had full mobility of my fingers the evening of the surgery which was at 6:30 am. I iced and wiggled my fingers constantly the first day and only had to take five Tylenol 3 in a 3-day period after surgery. Am looking forward to having my right hand done in the near future. Again, kudos to Dr. Baylis.

Dr Wardell did hip revision on my right hip May 29, 2018. He replaced the ball of my femur. Removed 2 unneeded screws and filled the holes with bone graft, and replaced my plastic liner. Incision was 5.5″. Old one was 14″. My recovery was amazing. He’s revising my lose knee implant 9/25/18. It failed at 3 years old. Eventually he will be doing my left hip and knee also. He is amazing. I trust him 100%

I’ve had both knees replaced by Dr. Wardell in the last few months. In my humble opinion he is both a brilliant and gifted surgeon. He answered all my questions and was honest with me about what I needed to do to have optimal results. Both surgeries went well with no complications. I was home in two days and able to return to work in two weeks. I have nothing but the highest praise for Dr. Wardell and would recommend him to anyone needing medical advice. I felt very well cared for by Dr. Wardell during my two complete knee replacements, 15 weeks apart. Palos Hospital and Dr. Wardell took a very conservative approach to avoid complications, and I had none. Recovery a bit of a struggle, but physical therapists and others commented on how “good” my scars looked and how well the knees were healing. My knees are now strong, mostly pain free, and I have a much better quality of life. I would strongly recommend Dr. Wardell to family and friends.

A friend of mine recommended Parkview Orthopaedic when I broke my ankle and I am very glad she did. I met with Dr. Paul DeFrino (who specializes in foot and ankle) and was immediately impressed with his knowledge and confidence regarding my injury. The break required surgery and I was scheduled within a few days to allow the swelling to go down. Dr. DeFrino visited me before surgery to go over the procedure and answer any questions I might have, which was greatly appreciated! The follow up visits reinforced my confidence in Dr. DeFrino as well. He took the time to answer my questions once again and was very supportive of my progress. Dr. DeFrino repaired tendon in my right foot and was a complete success, Years later I had the same surgery done on my left foot by another surgeon because of my insurance at that time. That surgery was not successful. I was fortunate to go back to Dr. DeFrino who did surgery on my left foot to make corrections and I did get better results. I would highly recommend Dr, DeFrino!

He was a great doctor. I had foot surgery over a year ago. I am a dance teacher so my feet are my life. He understood this and made sure that I would have many more years of teaching left. I live over 2 hours away so the drive was kind of long but he is worth it. Trust me, don’t settle on a doctor that is so-so.

I can’t rave enough about Dr. Shah’s bedside manner, efficiency, and surgical skill! He took care of our daughter who tore her ACL playing basketball. He came recommended from another players family. He spent time with us, showed us pictures & walked our angst filled teenage daughter through the surgery the recovery & was very compassionate when we started crying out of fear. We had surgery at a surgical center and it went great… He even called us later that day and then saw us in the office to show us pictures & to make sure we got everything we needed after surgery. She is now 3 months into it & is already running and building up strength. There is no one better that we met, and we took her to 2 different ACL surgeons. The staff, check in and check out were also pleasant and the assistants in the office also helped us with insurance issues. The office is clean & clearly a lot of people go see Dr. Shah for their ailments and injuries as well as the other very nice doctors at Parkview.

Dr. Shah took care of my shoulder when I fall. He put a brand new shoulder in me – a shoulder replacement (who knew that existed!). He took care of me very well when I went to first see him, he was patient, explained the problem, showed my on pictures in the walls in the room where the broken bones were and then he explained that treating in sling or plates and screws wouldn’t work well for me and also explained why which made sense. I stayed at palos hospital for 24 hours after surgery, but my pain is so much better thanks to him and his assistant Mr. Nate. They really knew how to take care of me and made sure that the nurses knew what to do as well. I am out of the sling after a few weeks and therapy is going well. I recommend him to all my friends at the palos fitness center. Dr. Shah is a very good doctor, caring and very good surgeon.

I had an excellent experience with Dr. Shah at Parkview. I came to see him for unrelenting shoulder pain for a long time only to find that I tore my rotator cuff tendon. He discussed with my how and why and more importantly how to get the pain to go away so I could sleep and get back to normal. I decided on arthroscopic surgery and I am doing great. Surgery wasn’t as bad as others told me it would be and Dr. Shah did great work. Highly recommend him, he is a surgical artist!

He spent our office visits explaining everything from the injury, the MRI, the surgery, and the recovery and assured me that soccer was still in my future. Did great, playing soccer, rehab was long and a lot of effort, but well worth it. Saw 4 other families and kids or athletes having acl surgery the same day we were! I have been seen as have my family by Dr. Shah for some shoulder and elbow problems after being recommended by some former professional athletes that he has treated. I can say he is highly regarded and it shows. He is fast quick and smart. His nurses are very nice and take a good history, Dr. Shah reviews and asks some pertinent questions followed by an exam and reviews any tests like xrays or mris that are done. He puts all together brilliantly and explains the diagnosis and treatment well. Whether he recommends surgery or no surgery he is able to tell us the latest treatments and the latest research. It feels like there are no wasted steps, or words in his entire process, and guess what it works! Especially with a surgeon who is highly sought after and regarded like him… Office staff is pleasant with smiles and they truly care as opposed to some big name places. Most importantly, Dr. Shah and his staff are better than any other place we’ve gone to when it comes to getting us better!

Tore my knee up bad playing soccer with multiple injured ligaments and cartilage. I saw two other doctors before Dr. Shah. The other ones didn’t seem very confident and they couldn’t answer my questions… Dr. Shah spent 10 minutes asking me questions and then a thorough exam on both my knees and he looked at my xrays and MRIs. He then spent 30 more minutes explaining the injury, the treatment options, what he would recommend, how he would do the surgery, then also spent time telling me all the phases of rehab… He clearly is the expert in his field of knee surgery and sports surgeries. His staff was just as awesome and spent so much time with me from Margo when she scheduled my surgery and also Michelle and Carlin. Surgery went great, I’m back to playing soccer and Nate his assistant in surgery and the office was just as thorough. Its hard to find such a well oiled machine in the surgeon as well as the entire staff. Kudos to Parkview Ortho for finding Dr. Shah to help all of us in the south burbs!”

At first my boss tried to force me to go to the work recommended doctor, who probably was just paid by my company to be bad and not help me and get me to back to work. But as my pain and suffering worsened, I asked one of my co-workers who told me that I can see whoever I want and Dr. Shah was heavily recommended. Dr. Shah was great. He ordered all the appropriate tests and discovered the injury at work ripped my rotator cuff completely off the bone. He performed surgery through a scope with tiny little portals and fixed the whole thing! It took a few months of recovery but the pain wasn’t that bad and I’m back in the gym and back at work. He was awesome and I got my life back!

Appointment scheduling and check in was easy. Was brought into the room 5 minutes after checking in and a nurse or an assitant talk some basic information. Dr. Shah then reviewed my xrays, and came in about 5 minutes afterwards, reviewed my history asked me some questions and performed a thorough exam on both of my knees. He explained the problem showing me pictures, asked me if I had any questions and then went over plan that does not involve surgery for me hopefully. Happy efficient.

Update: our girl is doing great 2 weeks after surgery she is walking, no crutches and is doing great in therapy. The physical therapist said she wasn’t surprised because most of the athletes in the area have dr shah do their ACL surgery and that compared to other doctors doing ACLs, his are the best prepared educated and also do a lot better.

Immediately upon arrival, I was sent for x-rays. Once back at the office, I was called in immediately and a nurse took my history. 5 to 10 minutes later, Dr. Shah arrived, and his personality is such that you feel at ease. He explained what he was doing throughout the exam, and then took the time to illustrate what he believed to be the issue with my knee. He informed me of the different possible diagnoses (dependent upon an MRI) and treatments, and he did not rush through the exam.

Repaired my rotator cuff in my shoulder that I injured at work. He walked me through the process even went out of his way to discuss my care with my attorney when I asked if he would and it helped my workers compensation claim go though as fast as possible. Surgery went great and I had an excellent result and am back to work and playing baseball with my kids without any problems. I will send all my friends and family to him. He is smart personable and the nurses we know that work in the operating room at christ hospital all say he is the best acl surgeon and shoulder surgeon there. That is why we went to him. He is extremely knowledgeable and helps patient through the graft decision making process, planning for pre and post surgery, and is able to answer ANY questions you may have regarding your operation. He replaced my shoulder 5 months ago. I’m already playing golf, exercising and bowling without pain now. Only regret is that I wished I saw him sooner and did the surgery sooner. He was one of three shoulder surgeons I saw and I am so glad he was referred to me. Better bedside manner, confidence, and intelligence than other surgeons I saw. He has a nice bedside way about him. Calming yet confident. I thought I needed a rotary cup repair, but after he examined my shoulder and we looked at my X-rays together he explained that my pain and stiffness was from arthritis. I have schedule a shoulder replacement with him . I saw 2 other people there who had their shoulders replaced and they said they pain was gone the day after surgery. I’m excited to get my life back.

Repaired my ACL. Tore ligament skiing. Surgery was fast recovery was fast. Not painful at all didn’t take any drugs. Was putting weight on my leg same day as surgery and started therapy a few days after surgery. Dr Shah spends a lot of time making sure that I understand what is going on and making sure I actively participate in my therapy and rehab. He is great, all the therapists at Advocate recommend him.

I went to see dr. shah after referred to him by friends. he has a wonderful bedside manner and truly cared about the pain in my knee. he did a very thorough exam and history. he had an orthopaedic surgery resident that was working with him and you could tell that dr. shah is an excellent teacher as well. he told me that the problem in my knee had a chance to do well without surgery and he thought we should try some conservative treatment first and then if i didn’t get better that scoping the knee would always be an option. eventually i did end up getting my knee scoped by him and within four weeks i’m back to playing racquetball and working full time as a nurse. all the nurses in the operating room at my hospital recommended him because they said he is the most technically gifted surgeon that they’ve ever worked with and i can see why. i’m grateful for having him as my surgeon

Saw him as a 2nd opinion for shoulder pain. He did a very thorough exam and asked all pertinent questions. Came to the correct diagnosis quickly and discussed different treatment options and gave me his reccomendation. I am now 3 months out from my rotator cuff repair and am back to playing golf and tennis with minimal soreness. My strength is great. He also took into account my schedule for surgery and even did my surgery on a day he normally doesn’t because he was pretty booked up. Great personality. Fixed my ACL and I am in rehab and I am functioning better, recovering quicker, no pain, and tiny incisions compared to everyone else that I talk to that had their ACLs done elsewhere. He did a greatjob on my knee and I thank him and my friends for recommending him!I initially went to a downtown academic center but that doctor didn’t give me any options on how to fix my ACL. Dr. Shah discussed all the different graft options and let me decide which graft to use after telling me the strengths and weaknesses of all the grafts. He clearly was way more knowledgeable than the ‘downtown’ guy who only knew how to do an ACL one way. I did some research and found out that Dr. Shah teaches other surgeons on ACL, knee, and shoulder surgery. I made the right decision going with him and am better off because of it!

Dr. Shah was able to successfully fix my rotator cuff arthroscpoically after another surgeon attempted to repair it 2 years ago and it never healed. He explained everything very thoroughly, was very honest with what he though my chances would be of a full recovery. Dr. Shah treated myself and my daughter after we both had been to other orthopaedic surgeons in the area. I had rotator cuff surgery in the past and it failed after 6 months. Dr. Shah discussed all possible options, gave me his recommendation and ultimately let me decide how to proceed. He did what he called a revision rotator cuff repair and he was able to do it all arthroscopically, when the doctor that did it before made a large open incision. My shoulder feels great and I’m back to playing tennis and golf.My daughter tore her ACL playing high school and club soccer… Dr. Shah spent 45 minutes with us discussing the different types of ACL grafts as well as what rehabiliation would involve. We learned so much from him, and my daughter is 3 months out from the surgery and is already running very well. We are so happy that we decided to go with Dr. Shah. Excellent bedside manner. Very bright and his reputation precedes him as an excellent doctor and surgeon. I had another doctor do me knee scope and repair ligaments, but my knee was never normal and always felt loose. Dr Shah did a difficult reconstruction on my knee that other orthopaedic surgeons in the area didn’t know anything about and weren’t able to help me. I’m now back to work as a fireman and have no problems and even started playing 16″ softball again! Now that Dr Shah is in the South and the southwest suburban and Chicagoland area I feel like we have one of the brightest and most capable minds for sports injuries in all of the Chicagoland area. I went to the ER with what I thought was a broken foot. They sent me home saying it looked like a bad sprain and to follow up with a specialist. I saw Dr. Ratkovich the next week and with further tests he confirmed that 5 bones were actually broken and there was a small dislocation. He recommended surgery immediately that week to prevent further problems with the dislocated joint. He was very kind, friendly, patient and confident. While I wasn’t awake to oversee them, it seems that he performed the surgeries well and his sutures were very neat and clean. I’m glad I chose Dr. Ratkovich and would chose him again for the issues I have had.
