ServicesElectromyography (EMG Testing)ServicesElectromyography, or EMG, is done within the offices of the Parkview Musculoskeletal Institute. This test is performed to evaluate for such conditions as carpal tunnel syndrome, nerve irritation in the neck and nerve irritation in the back. It can be utilized to help diagnose other medical conditions, depending on what your doctor is looking for. Electromyography is performed by Dr. Russell H. Glantz, who is a Board Certified Neurologist and Electromyographer. This type of testing takes approximately 45 minutes and involves electrical stimulation of specific nerves via placement of a thin, sterilized needle into specifc muscle groups. Although some parts of the test can be uncomfortable, Dr Glantz and his assistants take great care to ensure that this is minimized. Furthermore, there are no lingering effects after the test has been completed. Appointments for an EMG with Dr. Glantz can be made during our regular
business hours by calling 708-361-0600, ext. 530. |
